mystery box etiquette

From: capecodletterboxer (capecodletterboxer@yahoo.com) | Date: 2004-09-21 00:43:17 UTC
I recently went looking for a Mystery box. I know i was in the right
place. everything made sense, but the box was gone or not there. i
contacted the placer but haven't heard back. (its been like 3 wks)is
it possible i gave too much information and because the email was
monitored threw the LBNA web site the placer is mad? Maybe thinking
i gave too much info for someone else to see? It wasn't on this
site... i would never post info like that for all to see. but i am
kind of bummed i didn't hear back. I'm still learning proper
etiquette and hope i didn't offend anyone mainly the placer.

Was it my mystery box????

If so, I never saw your post, though I don't read many posts from MA (I live
in CT). If you are talking about the Windmill Letterbox, it's most likely
missing.

When was the box placed? Or last confirmed? Each time I email
someone, I keep in mind it may have been a few years since the
person placed the box, and since that time they may have lost
interest in the hobby, or for whatever reason arent monitoring that
particular email address, or arent involved whatsoever. I really
wouldnt take it personally, I dont see how you could have leaked any
info using the lbna site to send an email. Good luck in your
searches :)

it was Bunny in the Briar Basket and i know the placer is active
becuse a friend emailed the same placer about another box of
his/hers and she got a reply so if the placer of the said box
happens to read this... i'd just like to know if it is missing or i
missed it. :)

CCL,

We too were unable to locate the box. I believe one of the landmarks in
the clue may be missing. Haven't yet e-mailed the placer, but hopefully
we'll get word sooner or later.
